Creator Terms of Use

1. Overview

These Creator Terms of Use ("Creator Terms") supplement the Contego Media Terms & Conditions and apply specifically to your use of Contego Media creator tools, including but not limited to Beat Lab (beat maker & AI beat maker), Flow (multi-track studio editor), Mastering Tool, Art Lab / Imagine (AI cover art), Pulse Anthem (AI song generation), Video Lab (AI music videos), Cinema (video editor), Audio Converter, Image Converter, Audio Intelligence, Lyrics, Pitch Assist, Beat Hub (beat marketplace), Sound Store, TrackShield, and EPK Generator. By using these tools, you agree to these Creator Terms in addition to our general Terms & Conditions.

2. Rights Clearance Obligation

As a creator using Contego Media, you are solely responsible for ensuring that all content you upload, incorporate, create, or distribute through the Platform is properly licensed or owned by you. This includes:

  • Samples & Loops: Any third-party audio sample, loop, drum kit sound, melodic phrase, or sound design element you incorporate into your work must be licensed for the intended use (personal, commercial, sync, distribution, etc.).
  • Vocals & Recordings: Any vocal performance recorded or uploaded must have the express consent of the performer(s). This includes guest artists, session singers, and any third party whose voice appears in your output.
  • Beats & Instrumentals: If you are a recording artist using a beat, instrumental, or track created by another producer, you must hold or obtain the appropriate license for your intended use before exporting, distributing, or publishing.
  • Likeness Rights: If your content incorporates the name, image, likeness, or voice of any identifiable person, you must have their written consent.
  • AI-Assisted Content: If AI-generated elements (audio, imagery, visual art) are incorporated into your final output, you remain responsible for ensuring those outputs do not infringe any third-party rights.

3. No Infringement & Unlawful Use

You must not use Contego Media to:

  • Upload, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from copyrighted material you do not own or have a license to use.
  • Infringe any patent, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property right of any party.
  • Engage in unauthorized sampling of commercially released recordings.
  • Produce or distribute content designed to circumvent digital rights management systems.
  • Misrepresent the origin or authorship of any work.
  • Use the Platform in any manner that violates applicable copyright, music licensing, or intellectual property law.

4. Commercial Use & Distribution Responsibility

If you intend to commercially release, sell, license, pitch, sync, or otherwise distribute content created with Contego Media tools:

  • You are solely responsible for all clearances, registrations, and licenses required for commercial use.
  • Platform subscription fees do not include third-party licensing, mechanical rights, sync rights, or distribution rights for any third-party content incorporated into your work.
  • Contego Media is not a music distributor and does not register, clear, or administer your content with any performing rights organization, distributor, or rights body.

5. Collaborators, Samples, Vocals & Co-Writers

Where your project involves multiple contributors, you are responsible for obtaining valid written agreements from co-writers, producers, session performers, and any other contributors before commercially releasing or distributing the work.

6. File Storage & Export

Files you upload or generate as a creator on Contego Media are stored privately within your account's File Library. Your files are not shared with other creators or made publicly accessible without your explicit action. Storage limits and file retention are governed by your active subscription plan, as described in our Terms of Service.

7. Platform Rules & Conduct

All creator activity on Contego Media is subject to our Content Policy. Violations may result in content removal, feature restriction, account suspension, or permanent termination.

8. Updates

These Creator Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of creator tools after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Protection of Creator Works Against AI Training & Mining

Creator works stored on or created through Contego Media are not available for third-party text and data mining or AI training. Specifically:

  • We do not permit automated scraping, crawling, or bulk collection of creator works from the Platform.
  • We maintain technical measures (AI-training crawler blocks, no-ai signals, and text-and-data-mining rights reservations) and contractual prohibitions against unauthorized collection of creator content.
  • We reserve, on behalf of creators and the Platform, all rights against parties that mine or train on creator works without permission, and may enforce those rights under applicable copyright, contract, and text-and-data-mining law.

Nothing in this section limits your rights in your own works — it exists to protect them.
